Helping visionary leaders and organizations talk about the things we don’t like to talk about.

Do Good Better is unafraid of taboos — from nuclear weapons and disability to patriarchy and money — recognizing that honest and brave communication is required for progress.

We create the conditions for courage, connection, and freedom to emerge while confronting uncertainty: the shifting landscape and accompanying fears that limit what’s possible for the common good.

Uncertainty takes many forms — from a rapidly changing media environment, to shifts in funding and changes in organizational structure and capacity, to reevaluation of programming, products, and activities.

Whether you’re navigating one or all of the above, our values-based strategic communications approach can unlock what’s stuck: a fuzzy vision and unclear goals, disengaged audiences, misaligned teams, and stalled progress for your mission.

  • “The breadth of Amy and Guinevere’s engagement with diverse social change efforts has been invaluable as we evolve and work to discern our unique and highest impact lane within the larger ecosystem of social justice work. The project has grown and unfolded in a very organic way that has been better and more strategic with Do Good Better by our side.”

  • Amy is a strategist, storyteller, and conspirator for progress on a range of issues — from disability rights and nuclear disarmament, to racial and economic justice. She works with others to connect dots across movements and to activate individuals in service of complex systems change. Prior to founding Do Good Better, Amy led the DC office of Free Range Studios and was instrumental to the branding methodology outlined in the groundbreaking book, Winning the Story Wars.

  • Guinevere is an organizer, agitator, and passionate believer in elevating the values-based stories that enable communities to be seen and heard. Before joining Do Good Better, Guinevere worked in many capacities across different mission-driven efforts, from co-founding and resourcing a community-scale school gardening program, to leading strategic partnerships at a national organization focused on alternatives to consumerism. She’s worked in philanthropy, run her own business, written for publication, and been a featured guest on local, regional, and national public radio broadcasts. She supports smooth and successful collaborations at Do Good Better, and loves helping clients create meaningful, values-based communications and bring forth the full potential of their teams. Her heart lies with community-based advocacy, especially active mobility, public education, affordable housing, and immigrant rights. She lives in Charlottesville, VA, with her family.
